SAP Labs, set up in Singapore last year, will hire about 200 engineers to foster local digital talent in AI and other deep tech fields.

The AI talent pool will come from local higher learning institutions. Fifty of the newly created roles in AI have been filled.

The SAP AI Hub will also build innovative embedded AI solutions and offerings for SAP customers globally which will position Singapore as a core AI development centre.

Manik Saha, managing director for SAP Labs Singapore said: “When we launched SAP Labs in Singapore last year, we aimed to employ more than 400 highly-skilled digital professionals here by 2025. The expansion of AI capabilities is a major step towards that goal and furthers our mission to develop high-quality Singapore-based engineers with future-proof skills to build software and solutions for the world.”

He was speaking at SAP d-com Singapore, the company’s first developer conference in Singapore.

The expansion marks a milestone for SAP Labs Singapore.
