As Asia’s fintech sector navigates a complex web of macroeconomic headwinds and digital transformation imperatives, Money20/20 Asia 2025 is poised to offer a critical pulse check on where banking and financial innovation are headed next.

Returning to Bangkok this week, the event will bring together over 75 Asian and global banks, from established powerhouses to fast-growing neobanks and investment giants, under one roof. Notable names on the roster include J.P. Morgan, HSBC, Standard Chartered, KakaoBank, Maybank, Kasikorn Bank, National Australia Bank, and Ambank Group, among others.

This year’s agenda takes a sharper focus on the evolving role of Asia’s central banks and financial regulators, underscoring the region’s commitment to fostering a collaborative financial ecosystem that blends innovation with responsible governance. Key regulators confirmed to speak include those from Bank of Thailand, Bank Negara Malaysia and Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

“The path to profitability for digital banks is challenging, yet entirely achievable with the right strategy. At KakaoBank, we are committed to building a customer-centric, innovation-driven banking platform where we offer loan products, not only KakaoBank’s, but from over 50 partner companies redefining our customers’ everyday financial experiences,” said Daniel Yun, founder and CEO of KakaoBank Corp, who will be delivering a keynote on the pathway to AI adoption and profitability for digital banks.

“Our efforts have led us to serve over 80 per cent of South Korea’s working population. Money20/20 Asia is the premier fintech event in APAC, bringing together the most influential voices in fintech, payments and banking to shape the industry’s future. It provides the perfect stage for KakaoBank to showcase our success, share our vision of going beyond banking with AI technology, and explore the evolving digital banking landscape alongside industry leaders driving financial innovation across Asia.”

With AI, embedded finance, CBDCs, cross-border payments and regulatory tech taking prominence, Money20/20 Asia 2025 will serve as a pivotal platform shaping the future trajectory of fintech across APAC.

Deeptech Times will be onsite to cover breaking announcements, insightful panel discussions and exclusive interviews with influential newsmakers that are making waves in the regional fintech landscape.
